Most gourmets peel the kiwi before eating it.
And this, oddly enough, is not entirely the correct approach.
It turns out that kiwi can (and even should) be eaten with the peel.
The fact is that it is this part of the fruit (although it is more correct to call kiwi a berry) that contains the maximum amount of useful components.
What are the benefits of kiwi peel?
The outer shell of the fruit is a source of large amounts of vitamins, folic acid and other beneficial compounds.
In addition, the berry peel is an excellent source of potassium.
The pulp of the fruit is not as useful as the outer “layer”.
Thus, eating kiwi with the peel helps to strengthen the cardiovascular system, improve the condition of the skin, and strengthen the immune system.
How to Properly Prepare Kiwi with Peel for Eating
First, the fruit must be thoroughly washed with warm water.
If the kiwi has too much fuzz, brush the surface of the berry with a fruit brush.
But it is better to initially choose those fruits whose top layer is smooth.
There is another important recommendation: do not overeat. You can eat 2-3 unpeeled kiwis per day. And if you plan to eat the fruit with the peel, then limit yourself to one fruit.
