Relatively recently, coffee was blamed for the development of heart problems, which turned out to be a myth, but not without reason - the abuse of coffee is fraught with consequences.
Foreign scientists found out whether it is possible to drink coffee every day during a 12-year experiment.
The results of the work were published in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.
Research by scientists
As already mentioned, the experiment lasted for 12 years. As part of the research, specialists monitored the health of 188 thousand people.
Data were obtained from the UK Biobank.
What was found out?
According to the data obtained, daily consumption of coffee (as well as caffeinated tea) reduces the risk of developing type II diabetes.
Cardiologists say that this also reduces the risk of developing coronary heart disease, stroke, and other diseases of the heart and blood vessels.
Coffee every day
The researchers named 2-3 cups of coffee or 200-300 mg of caffeine per day as the acceptable norm.
It also turned out that doses of less than 100 mg of caffeine per day did not have such protective properties.
And one more thing: the risk of the listed diseases was reduced by 50% among people who drank coffee.
Drinking tea and coffee reduced the threshold to 40%.
