In 2013, the International Journal of Humanities and Social Science conducted a study. People suffering from high blood pressure took part in it.
It was decided to divide all participants in the experiment into several groups – three, to be more precise.
The subjects from the first group were given a glass filled with water and lemon juice.
The participants of the second group were content with apples - one per person.
The third group was the luckiest of all, as its members were offered both an apple and water with lemon juice.
Then everyone was asked to do physical exercises.
As a final step in the experiment, all participants had their blood cholesterol levels measured.
The most significant reduction in cholesterol was seen in the first group. Those who received both the apple and the lemon water came in second.
The data obtained allowed the scientists to conclude that consuming lemon does indeed help reduce blood cholesterol levels.
