People are used to blaming all their troubles on the unhealthy food that helpful vendors sell on the streets.

But healthy eating experts warn that it is not only shawarma and other fast food bought on the street that can cause complications, and they told us what else you should not buy on the street.

In an interview with NEWS.ru, Professor of the Department of Geography, Geoecology and Nature Management of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the State University of Education, hygienist Sergei Gildenskiold explained why you shouldn’t buy cotton candy on the street.

The specialist does not recommend buying these products for the simple reason that street dust accumulates in them.

Maintaining the cleanliness of products such as shawarma and cotton candy, as well as the cleanliness of equipment, the cook's hands and work clothes, is difficult.

Besides, not every street vendor has a health certificate.

You need to be especially careful in hot weather.

In addition to dust, pollen from flowering plants can get into food, which can cause allergies.

Next, you need to pay attention to the color of the cotton candy, which in the past was only white, but now food colorings and flavorings are used to make it, which is also fraught with allergic reactions.

It is also important to remember that one serving of cotton candy contains approximately 10 grams of sugar, and that children are predisposed to diabetes due to the consumption of sweet soda, baked goods and desserts.
