General practitioner and nutritionist Natalia Zubareva named 5 typical nutritional mistakes that negatively affect the functioning of the heart.
We are talking about the consumption of vegetables, berries, fruits, sugar, salt and the colossal harm to the heart caused by a lack of fluid.
The specialist told Gazeta.Ru about the specific nutritional mistakes that many of us make.
Vegetables, berries, fruits
They are a source of phytonutrients, biologically active components that are very beneficial for the body.
According to the nutritionist, these substances reduce cholesterol levels, strengthen the capillary wall and support normal heart function.
In addition, they have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.
The mistake is that people eat very few vegetables, fruits and berries.
Roast
But here the mistake is the opposite – eating fried foods too often.
The doctor says that even if you eat such foods just a few times a week, there is a risk of developing heart failure, obesity and hypertension.
Under the influence of high temperatures, the crispy fried crust becomes a real poison that destroys the body, the expert warns.
Excessive consumption of fried foods provokes cardiovascular pathologies, she noted.
Sugar
The mistake is in over-consuming this product. The more of it, the greater the risk of health problems.
In particular, the likelihood of gaining extra pounds increases sharply, and this can have a very negative impact on the heart, among other things.
Salt
Another common mistake is to consume too much salt and cook food with too much salt.
And too much salt is a risk for high blood pressure, heart failure and stroke.
Zubareva points out that the norm is considered to be no more than 1.5 g of salt per day, but in reality, most people’s diets contain “much more.”
Liquid
Dehydration is another common mistake that can exacerbate health problems in addition to those listed above.
The heart suffers greatly from a lack of fluid. A lack of water leads to thickening of the blood, and the cardiovascular system finds it difficult to cope with its pumping, the doctor said.
Ultimately, the problem can develop into a significant risk of “acquiring” a stroke or heart attack, she added.
