Not everyone likes to go to doctors. As a result, this brings a lot of additional health problems, since not all folk methods help to cope with ailments.
For example, in case of iodine deficiency, some are ready to make iodine grids, believing that this will replenish the lack of an important element in the body.
But does it help?
Endocrinologist Yulia Kathuria provided more details, reports Gazeta.Ru .
As the doctor explained, when the iodine mesh is applied, some amount of the substance is absorbed.
But it is impossible to calculate how much iodine enters the body.
In this case, the temperature of the body, the air, and the area of the skin covered by the product are also important.
She noted that iodized salt can be used instead of net.
A small amount is enough. Only 1 gram of the product contains about 40 mcg of iodine. You can consume up to 5 grams of salt per day. You should not overdo it, otherwise it can lead to problems.
The doctor said that it is generally accepted that iodine mesh reduces swelling, inflammation and dilates blood vessels.
Kathuria also added in a conversation with journalists that the effectiveness of iodine mesh in this regard has not yet been proven.
