It is important to maintain water balance. If you forget about this rule, you will not be able to avoid problems. The negative consequences are especially harmful to older people.

Nutritionist Elena Solomatina spoke about how much water you need to drink per day, as well as the consequences of water deficiency, the Izvestia publication reports.

As the specialist noted, for every kilogram of weight you need to consume about 30 ml of water.

In this case, the norm should be stretched out over the entire day. You should not try to restore the balance at once. This will only lead to additional stress on the body.

If we talk about the negative consequences of water shortage, there are many of them.

For example, kidney stones may form, the immune system may weaken, and problems with the gastrointestinal tract, lungs, and liver may also arise. In addition, a violation of the water balance negatively affects even behavior and the state of the brain.

Solomatina noted that it is always better to choose clean water.

Tea, coffee or, for example, beer will definitely not help restore the balance, but will rather lead to dehydration.
