For many, a trip to the dacha is associated not only with relaxation and barbecue, but also with work in the garden and vegetable patch.

But not every newbie who decides to start growing vegetables knows that some infections can be transmitted through the soil.

Therapist Alexey Khukhrev spoke about this in more detail for Sputnik radio.

The specialist noted that it is important to remember that tetanus spores are in the soil. If a person accidentally stumbles upon a rusty and dirty nail, there is a risk of infection.

The dangers do not end there. Toxoplasmosis can also be contracted, for example, if strange or wild cats are roaming the area.

Don't forget about ticks, which are especially active in the summer.

Therefore, you need to carry out the work carefully and with gloves. Afterwards, you should definitely wash your hands with soap, inspect your clothes and body. You cannot touch your face and eyes with dirty hands.
