Taking the same drug to bring down a fever can lead to serious complications.
Therapist Polina Ermolova shared the details.
As the doctor noted, with a viral infection, the temperature can rise several times a day. In such situations, the patient can take a drug containing paracetamol to improve their condition and bring down the temperature.
But overdoing it with such means can be dangerous.
"You need to stick to the daily dose. For paracetamol, it is four grams," Moscow 24 quotes Yermolova as saying.
If the dose is exceeded, rashes or problems with blood pressure are possible, and in more serious cases, we can even talk about liver damage.
For this reason, it is necessary to alternate drugs or forms of medication.
Another mistake is that patients can bring down a low temperature. It should be brought down as soon as the mark reaches 38.6 degrees and above.
The specialist highlighted another misconception - you can't take a bath when you have a cold. But in fact, you shouldn't take a hot bath, but you do need to take a shower.
In addition, to recover, you need to ventilate your home and drink more fluids.
