Some people, when faced with a cold, try to choose folk methods of treatment. But such methods do not always really help and are safe.
For example, when you have a sore throat, the most common mistake is to gargle with soda.
Dr. Vladimir Zaitsev spoke about this in more detail on the air of the program “About the Most Important Thing” on the TV channel “Russia 1”.
He noted that such a solution only brings temporary relief.
In fact, soda dries out the back wall of the throat, and the mucous membrane of the throat begins to dry out.
As a result, the inflammation will only torment the patient more.
Gargling with kerosene is also prohibited. This method will not help to get rid of the problem, but can only lead to cancer of the larynx, tonsils and root of the tongue.
Another common mistake that patients with a sore throat make is that some prefer to remove the plugs from the tonsils themselves using a spoon. In fact, this can only make things worse.
