On weekends, every working person dreams of getting enough sleep for the entire work week, but not everyone succeeds.

However, this is a futile undertaking, and there is no point in grumbling if someone woke you up earlier than expected on a Sunday morning. Science believes that it is almost impossible to get back what you missed on weekdays.

Is it worth trying?

You can spend a few more hours in bed and even feel rested and invigorated.

But in general, it will not be possible to repay the body’s debt for a night’s rest accumulated over five days, according to the staff of Harvard Medical School.

As part of the study, working volunteers were sleep-deprived for two weeks, meaning they slept less than 6 hours.

Over the weekend, they were given 10 hours of sleep and then tested on their ability to solve complex logic problems.

Compared to those who slept all this time according to schedule, these citizens acted, frankly speaking, sluggishly.

Scientists believe that it is impossible to compensate for a lack of adequate night's rest over the weekend.

And lack of sleep can lead to poor vision, obesity, diabetes and other problems.

In order to make up for a week's worth of lost sleep, a person needs to spend the entire weekend in bed. But no one has ever managed to sleep for two days.

Full recovery can be called the body's reaction when a person wakes up at the right time without an alarm clock, and goes to bed and falls asleep when needed.
