Growing strong seedlings is not as easy as it seems at first glance, especially when it comes to bell peppers.
Luck can turn away from a summer resident because of bad seeds, bad soil or lighting. There are many reasons. Even if shoots appear, the seedlings may stop growing.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, explained why pepper seedlings are withering before our eyes.
In general, the reason lies in the conditions created for the seedlings.
As soon as the pepper shoots appear, you need to monitor the air temperature.
It is important to maintain a temperature of about 18 degrees Celsius for the first 3-5 days. If it is 23-25 degrees Celsius, it can harm the sprouts.
If you don’t take care of lighting at an early stage, the seedlings will slow down their development.
Therefore, you need to think about phytolamps.
The root system of young shoots is not yet developed and will simply rot if you get carried away with watering.
The soil should be moist, but there should be no stagnant moisture.
It has been noted that it is better to grow peppers in separate pots at once. Extra transplanting and picking are not good for them. But not all gardeners agree with this.
In this regard, the principle applies that less is better than an overdose.
Earlier we talked about how to prepare soil for seedlings.
