If you prefer to plant only traditional vegetables like cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage and zucchini in your garden beds, then you know the importance of replenishing the fertility level.

Also, many summer residents prefer to use only environmentally friendly fertilizers so that the harvest is clean.

In addition, such a gardener may ignore mulching, since his ancestors did not do so.

But at the same time, he likes to dig up the soil thoroughly - it is not surprising that under the influence of these factors the soil becomes too crumbly.

What can be done

Let's turn to the recommendations of the expert of the online publication "Belnovosti" and agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh.

There is no need to change the entire top layer of soil - it is expensive and time-consuming. Start with fertilizers, adding up to 3 buckets of compost per 1 square meter, which you will dig to a depth of 10 cm.

If you have sandy soil, you should not dig it up more than once a year.

To prevent the soil from becoming dusty, mulch it with grass, straw, sawdust, etc.
