The main thing you can do now is to try to avoid making the very mistake that will be fatal for the cabbage.
Because of such fundamentally incorrect actions, the cabbage harvest is then stored very poorly.
This unfortunate misunderstanding lies in the fact that many summer residents believe that there is no need to water cabbage in September.
Although in reality the situation is quite the opposite - the soil during this period of time is characterized by increased dryness, especially in the place where the main part of the cabbage root system is located.
Therefore, when the Indian summer period, beloved by many, comes to an end and prolonged rains begin, the heads of cabbage begin to crack due to the excess amount of moisture.
Even if you are lucky and no cracks appear, the waterlogged cabbage tissue will quickly begin to rot when stored.
To avoid this unpleasant phenomenon, water the cabbage at a rate of 5 liters of water per 1 plant at least a couple of times a week, keeping equal intervals between waterings.
