When choosing dairy products, the population, scared to death by cholesterol, avoids products with a high fat content.
On the one hand, this is correct. But on the other hand, low-fat products are not so healthy and this rule also applies to regular sour cream.
Nutritionist Nata Gonchar told us which sour cream is considered the healthiest.
Most of us buy sour cream at the store.
1. Many people choose a product with a fat content of 10-15%.
From a dietetics point of view, this is correct: it has fewer calories, and if fatty foods are contraindicated, then there is no choice at all.
It is also nutritious, and due to its low glycemic index, there is no sharp increase in insulin in the blood.
2. However, sour cream with a fat content of 20-30% contains more nutrients.
It is more caloric and more useful for men. It contains zinc and cholesterol, which is necessary for the production of testosterone.
3. Farm sour cream can have a fat content of 30% or more.
Of course, it contains many useful substances, but its consumption should be moderate and if there are no problems with lactose tolerance.
It is also used in diets, but mainly in high-fat and low-carbohydrate diets.
Therefore, the decision to choose a healthy product must be made based on your health, diet and culinary preferences.
