Tangerines are very healthy, but they should be consumed in strictly limited quantities.
The chief nutritionist of the Moscow Department of Health, Antonina Starodubova, told how many tangerines you can eat per day.
Her recommendations are cited by MIA "Russia Today" .
As Starodubova explained, tangerines are an excellent source of vitamin C.
It strengthens the immune system and protects against seasonal respiratory diseases.
This vitamin also has a positive effect on the heart and blood vessels.
According to the nutritionist, it makes the walls of blood vessels more elastic and durable.
And the dietary fiber contained in tangerines, Starodubova added, normalizes lipid metabolism.
100 grams of tangerines contain about 40% of the daily requirement of vitamin C.
Tangerines also contain carotenoids – provitamin A, B vitamins, minerals, bioflavonoids, and organic acids.
However, you shouldn’t eat a lot of tangerines: excessive consumption can provoke a pseudo-allergic reaction, accompanied by skin rashes and itching.
You shouldn’t consume more than 200-250 g of tangerines per day, the nutritionist advised.
