How People Lost Weight in the USSR: A Diet Popular Among Soviet Models

We invite you to dive into the past and remember how women in the USSR monitored their weight.

Of course, even in those days, radical and dangerous mono-diets were in use - in pursuit of an ideal figure, those losing weight ate unsalted rice for weeks or consumed ground parsley root.

Another nutrition system from this category is herbal kefir.

By the way, it is attributed to Alla Pugacheva - supposedly the singer added a large amount of greens to kefir, mixed everything thoroughly and drank it throughout the day.

But Soviet models followed a different diet.

Their breakfast consisted of a soft-boiled egg, their second breakfast – 180 g of cottage cheese (low-fat), lunch – 200 g of poultry or fish (also boiled). For an afternoon snack they again prepared a soft-boiled egg for themselves, and for dinner they ate the same 180 g of cottage cheese.

Lunch and dinner were allowed to be supplemented with a cup of tea or coffee – without sugar, of course.

This diet had to be followed for three days in order to show off her chiseled figure during her important appearance on the catwalk.
