TV doctor Elena Malysheva told in the program “Live Healthy!” that there is one popular myth that concerns milk.
She noted that when losing weight, many people replace cow's milk with oat milk, believing that such a drink is healthier and less caloric. But, as it turned out, this is not so.
Cardiologist German Gandelman supported his colleague.
As the expert stated, oat milk contains a lot of carbohydrates, which stimulate appetite.
Ultimately, this can lead to gaining extra pounds and obesity.
Malysheva noted that 100 g of the product can contain up to 60 kcal.
The difference with cow's milk is that oat milk may not contain fat, which distinguishes it from cow's milk, but it will contain carbohydrates in large quantities.
She also emphasized that manufacturers can often add a lot of sugar to the drink to improve the taste of the oat product, which makes it even more harmful.
