People who observe fasting know that not all foods can be consumed during this period.
But don't despair and think that you will have to starve. This is not true. You can still find an alternative replacement for the food that you can't eat.
Nutritionist Oleg Iryshkin spoke about this, writes Gazeta.Ru .
As the doctor noted, during Lent it is customary to give up dairy, meat and eggs. But where to get important protein so that muscle mass does not decrease? It's simple.
As Iryshkin noted, legumes should be included in the diet. These can be chickpeas, lentils and beans. They are great for adding to soups and salads, and they also make a great side dish.
If you give up meat, you should also add more cereals. You can choose bulgur, quinoa, buckwheat or oatmeal.
The nutritionist added that smoothie lovers can use sprouted green buckwheat as an additional component.
The lack of calcium, which may arise due to the absence of milk during this period, can be compensated for with sesame paste, and fats - with vegetable oils.
