To remove the onion smell, it is recommended to place it in water and leave it there for a while. The only problem is that after such a procedure the bitterness inherent in onions may remain.
Some housewives put the chopped onion in a colander and pour boiling water over it. In addition to the risk of getting burned, there is another potential problem: the vegetable may change its structure.
The best option is to chop the onion and place it under running warm water at a temperature of 60-70 degrees for 45 seconds.
This will speed up the chemical reactions occurring in the product and get rid of the bitterness and sharp onion “aroma”.
