If you often boil beets, you may have noticed that the process takes an awfully long time - in the worst case, it can take up to four hours.

Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova agrees that this is too long, so she shares a method by which this procedure can be accelerated.

For example, you can avoid putting vegetables in cold water and wait until the liquid in the pan boils first.

As a result, the root vegetables will be ready in about an hour.

There is also a faster option, according to which you should cook the beets in boiling water for half an hour, then fish them out with a slotted spoon and put them under a stream of ice-cold tap water for 10-15 minutes.

As a result of the temperature difference she experienced, the beets will be ready in a maximum of 50 minutes.

The last method is for those in a hurry, as it only takes half an hour.

Place the beets in a saucepan and fill it with water so that it completely covers the vegetables, then place the container on high heat. Do not reduce the intensity of the flame during cooking. Do not use a lid.

After 15 minutes, repeat the ice water treatment described earlier.
