Boiling potatoes, even if you don't peel them and cook them in their skins, takes quite a long time.
However, the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova, has an interesting method in stock, thanks to which you will be able to speed up the preparation of potatoes.
To do this, you will need the most ordinary toothpick.
All the cook needs to do is prick each potato with a toothpick in several places before placing the vegetables in the pan.
This will result in small holes appearing in the skin and the potatoes being cooked much faster than usual.
On average, the cooking time of potatoes pre-treated in this way is reduced by 10-15 minutes, which is quite critical in certain situations.
Don't even think about making holes with a fork or knife - the potatoes, although they will cook faster, will not be suitable for use as an ingredient in a salad or other dish, since too much liquid will get under the skin due to the holes being too large. As a result, the potatoes will become watery and overcooked.
