In addition to the cooking method, there is a bonus – a “magic” trick from a Belarusian grandmother.

To prepare potato pancakes we need 7 potatoes, one onion, two eggs.

You will also need flour, salt, and oil for frying.

First, wash and peel the vegetables, and grate the potatoes and onion. Put all this in one container.

Break the eggs into it, add a little flour so that the dough is not liquid. Then add salt.

Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil and spoon in the dough.

Fry first on one side until golden brown. Then turn over and fry on the other side.

Serve the dish with sour cream.

Now for grandma's trick. To prevent the potatoes from absorbing too much oil when frying, add something to the dough as you cook it.

Just half a teaspoon of vodka per 1 kilo of potato mass.

Don't worry: the alcohol won't affect the taste of the potato pancakes. It will evaporate during frying.

However, during this time it will be beneficial – it will not allow the potatoes to absorb oil.
