Puff pastry is a real lifesaver for a housewife who needs to quickly set the table for guests or treat her family to something tasty for tea.
But before you start creating your next culinary masterpiece, the product needs to be defrosted.
How to do this quickly, was explained by the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova.
If you don't have the opportunity to wait, you should use the "services" of a microwave oven.
Place the dough on a flat dish – it can be glass or ceramic.
Turn on the appliance, selecting the "Defrost" mode. If this is not in the settings, set the microwave power to 80-100 W, and the time to 60 seconds.
After 30 seconds, open the door to flip the dough over. This way, you won't have to worry about the top layer drying out and the puff pastry defrosting unevenly.
If it is rolled into a roll, the dough should be straightened out at this stage.
Leave the semi-finished product in the microwave for another half a minute, and after 30 minutes check its consistency. If the dough is still hard, turn it over again to repeat the manipulations.
