If you think that you can only shred cabbage with a regular knife, you are mistaken.
Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova shared an interesting method that allows you to achieve your goal much faster, and most importantly, does not involve using a knife.
More precisely, you will still need a tool - but not the one you are used to cutting cabbage with, but the one you usually use to peel vegetables.
So, the list of necessary things consists of only two items:
Cut the cabbage into four pieces to make it easier to hold in your hand.
After that, firmly grasp the stalk and start shredding the cabbage using a vegetable peeler. Its shape and sharp blade allow you to achieve uniform pieces.
Remember to control the thickness of the slices of chopped cabbage: they should be thin enough to marinate or cook quickly, but not so thin that they lose their structure.
