Onions fried in a frying pan are used in almost all first courses, salads and appetizers, and recently even in cutlets.
It seems that frying onions is a fairly simple task. But if you get distracted a little, the onions immediately burn, and their appearance and taste spoil the entire dish.
Fortunately, now you can forget about this problem – if you use the advice of the expert of the online publication “BelNovosti”, chef Yulia Arkhipova.
To avoid onions burning, just follow a simple procedure before putting them in the pan.
But let's start, as they say, from the beginning: first of all, cut the onion into cubes (or otherwise, if the recipe requires it), then place it in a bag, which should be clean and dry.
Add one tablespoon of flour here and gently shake the bag of onions so that they are covered with flour on all sides.
From the bag, place the onion in a dry colander or sieve and shake again – this will help you get rid of any excess flour stuck to the onion.
Now you can safely put the onion in a heated frying pan with oil to fry it. The fire should be turned on slightly above medium.
If you do everything correctly, you don’t have to worry about burning: the onion will turn out golden and delicious.
To remove excess oil, place the finished fried onions on paper towels – the napkins will absorb the fat.
