How to prepare cherries for the winter: a gorgeous recipe – jam-jelly “Um otyesh”

If you want to enjoy the magical taste of cherries in the winter, now is the time to stock up on a recipe for the most delicious and aromatic preparation from this berry.

How to make cherry jam-jelly, which can safely be called "Eat your mind", was told by the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", chef Yulia Arkhipova.

To do this you will need:

  • 1 kg fresh cherries,
  • 700 g sugar,
  • 100 ml cold boiled water,
  • 25 g gelatin.

The berries need to be thoroughly washed, the seeds removed and placed in a deep bowl.

After this, cover the cherries with sugar and leave them like this for 5-8 hours so that they soak.

When the time is right, dissolve the gelatin in water and put the cherries on the stove to boil. When the berries reach boiling point, reduce the heat and cook them for about 10 minutes, remembering to skim off the foam.

Now it's time to add gelatin and mix the future preparation well.

When the jam-jelly is ready, pour it into clean and pre-sterilized jars, then close the containers with screw caps or roll them up.

The jars should be turned over, wrapped up and left to cool, and then moved to the refrigerator or cellar.
