How to Bake an Airy Easter Cake: It Stays Fresh for a Long Time

Easter cake is a special kind of homemade holiday baking. Every housewife tries to make the buns airy, light and not stale for a long time.

The expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova - a cook, fourth-class baker, told how to bake exactly this kind of Easter cake.

You will need:

  • milk - 500 ml;
  • flour - 1.2 kg;
  • butter - 200 g;
  • dry yeast - 11 g;
  • eggs - 6 pcs.;
  • sugar - 250 g;
  • raisins - 300 g;
  • vanilla sugar - 1 tsp.

How to cook

1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk, add 500 g of flour, stir, let sit in a warm place under a towel.

2. When the dough has doubled in size, mix the yolks with regular and vanilla sugar and add to the dough. Beat the whites with a pinch of salt.

3. Add melted butter to the dough, stir, then add the egg whites and stir again, after which you can sift the remaining flour.

4. Knead the dough and leave in a warm place for an hour, and in the meantime prepare the dried fruits.

5. Let the dough rise, grease the molds with oil, place the dough in them, cover with a towel and let it rise again.

6. Place the molds in an oven preheated to 100 degrees, and after 10 minutes increase the temperature to 180 degrees Celsius.

Bake until done, then glaze to taste. Enjoy!
