Boiling potatoes is not a difficult task, but some rules still need to be followed.
Yulia Arkhipova, an expert in the field of cooking for the online publication Belnovosti, a cook and fourth-class baker, tells us how to cook potatoes correctly.
First, you need to use a saucepan with a thick bottom, otherwise the potatoes will burn.
Secondly, potatoes should be boiled in a minimum amount of water. The water should barely cover the potatoes.
Thirdly, you need to salt the potatoes before cooking. A kilogram of potatoes requires 10-15 grams of salt.
Fourthly, the potatoes should be approximately the same size. Large ones should be cut, possibly into several pieces.
Fifthly, potatoes should not be poured with cold water, but placed in boiling water, so that more nutrients are preserved in them.
