Of all the types of sea fish, mackerel is the most beloved by most people. It is inexpensive, easy to prepare and very healthy.

Mackerel can be baked, boiled and salted. As for salting, in this case mackerel has no equal.

It can be salted or marinated so that it will be ready to eat in just a few hours.

You will need:

  • mackerel - 2-3 pcs.;
  • onions - 3-4 pcs.;
  • black pepper - 1 tsp;
  • salt - 3 tbsp;
  • sugar - 1 tbsp;
  • vinegar, vegetable oil - ½ cup each;
  • bay leaf, fresh herbs.

How to cook

1. Clean the fish from entrails, remove the tail, fins and head, rinse thoroughly and cut into pieces.

2. Peel the onion and cut it into rings.

3. Prepare the marinade. Mix salt, sugar, pepper, vegetable oil, vinegar and add a glass of warm boiled water.

Stir until the salt and sugar dissolve. When the marinade has cooled, place the fish in a jar, layering it with onions, and pour in the marinade.

Finally, add bay leaf, 3-4 peppercorns, fresh herbs and put under pressure in the refrigerator. After 4-5 hours, you can serve.
