As a rule, a knife is used to separate sprat fillets from bones, but due to the size of the fish, this method cannot be called convenient.

If you have to disassemble a kilogram of fish carcasses, you risk spending more than one hour in the kitchen.

However, if you use the life hack from this article, the process will speed up significantly.

The whole secret is to use two forks instead of one knife.

You need to proceed as follows.

First, place the fish on a cutting board, then use a fork to press its head down onto a flat surface.

With the other fork, or rather its side part, you need to cut the fillet to the spine and run it from the head to the base of the tail.

As you might have guessed, to complete the process, the fish needs to be turned over to the other side and the same thing done again.

However, this “recipe” can be improved: instead of turning the sprat over, use one tine of a fork to lift its spine and separate it from the bottom fillet, then separate that same bottom fillet from the head.

As a result, you can easily deal with a whole mountain of small fish in a matter of minutes.
