What to do with oversalted soup: don't throw it away

If you oversalted your first course or another hot dish, wait to tear your hair out.

Instead, use techniques that will save you from getting into an awkward situation.

1. The easiest way to get rid of oversalting is, of course, to add water to dilute the broth.

Despite its effectiveness, this solution also has a significant drawback - the previously rich taste of the soup will change for the worse.

2. For the second option you will need regular potatoes.

A medium-sized tuber should be peeled and thrown into a saucepan. The potato should absorb excess salt.

3. Finally, the third method. It consists of pouring a handful of rice into gauze and tying it to form a bag. This is the bag that should be lowered into the pot in which the oversalted dish was cooked.
