Little children often cry. Sometimes - after a really big trouble, sometimes - for no particular reason.
Often a child uses tears for manipulation. For example, to force parents to buy him a toy.
In any case, mothers and fathers must react correctly.
Firstly, you shouldn't give in to blackmail. Secondly, if tears are caused by some failure, you shouldn't scold the child and upset him even more.
It's best to tell your son or daughter something that will make him/her calm down. Luckily, such a universal phrase exists.
In most cases, crying babies calm down if they hear the following from their parents: "It's a pity. Let's try to find a way out of this situation."
From a psychological point of view, this is a very accurate phrase. A hysterical child who demands to buy him something comes to the conclusion that the parents have expressed their willingness to negotiate with him (while there is no indulgence of the child's whims yet).
And an upset child feels that mom and dad are ready to come to his aid.
"Stop it immediately!", "Don't cry!", "You're not a girl!" - these phrases are not appropriate.
Because of them, the baby may become even more upset. In addition, the child may develop psychological complexes.
