Including grapefruit in your diet is not always beneficial.

So, older people should be careful with this “additive”.

The thing is that in adulthood, many of us are faced with the need to take various medications, including drugs to combat insomnia, hypertension and anxiety disorders.

At the same time, the components contained in grapefruits can interact with the active substances of these drugs.

The result is unwanted side effects.

This is why older people should first consult with their doctor before making grapefruit a part of their diet.

In addition, in old age, you should avoid eating food that has not been cooked enough.

This applies to foods such as blue cheeses, seafood and dishes containing raw eggs.

They often contain pathogens of various infections, which the body of an elderly person may not be able to cope with due to a weakened immune system.

Another recommendation concerns limiting spicy foods, canned foods, sausages and sweets.

Canned foods and sausages often contain large amounts of sodium, which can negatively affect cardiovascular health.

Spicy foods, in turn, often lead to irritation of the gastric mucosa.
