With the onset of autumn, daylight hours become shorter. The weather can often be cloudy and rainy, and the sun, which penetrates the clouds less often, no longer provides the necessary amount of light for normal production of vitamin D.
As a result, the person’s health worsens, depression may occur, and the person wants to sleep more.
In the autumn months, the concentration of melatonin in the blood increases, for the production of which tryptophan is used, but the level of serotonin decreases. At the same time, the likelihood of stressful situations increases.
Endocrinologist Svetlana Shokur spoke about this in an interview with the publication Gazeta.ru .
She recommended eating more foods with tryptophan. This includes turkey, cheese, nuts, and so on.
It is necessary to pay attention to the level of magnesium in the body. If there is not enough of it, then convulsions and depressed mood are possible.
Shokur added that in the fall, an exacerbation of chronic diseases and the development of infectious viral diseases may be observed.
Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the body with the help of nutrition. Products with vitamin C will help here. These are peppers, currants, sauerkraut. Vitamin E is also important for health, which can be found in nuts, vegetable oils and liver.
You shouldn't abuse coffee, alcohol, or energy drinks during this period. They will only put additional strain on your body. As a result, you will only feel excessively tired.
It is also better to give up sweets, which only give temporary energy, but ultimately lead to serious health problems.
