Sometimes weight problems arise not because of poor nutrition and lack of activity, but for psychological reasons.

Psychologist Veronica Feldblum named five main ones during a conversation with representatives of the RIA Novosti publication.

As the specialist noted, the first reason is the inability to withstand one's feelings, to "digest" emotions. As a result, there is a desire to eat away one's experiences.

Another reason is self-dislike.

The specialist also noted that the problem may lie in the desire to become a more visible person for their environment. If a person craves social attention but does not receive it, they may gain extra pounds.

In addition, Feldblum emphasized in a conversation with the press that a person can gain weight due to beliefs that appeared in his head in childhood and continue to control his body and behavior.

For example, “there should be a lot of a good person,” and here we should also add cases when parents persuade a child to eat something with the phrases: “A spoonful for mom, a spoonful for dad.”

The last reason is not at all obvious, here you need to look at the person's family. For example, if even among his very distant relatives someone suffered greatly from hunger.
