This type of activity has a positive effect on the health of older people.

As experts from Sweden noted in their work, high-intensity training reduces blood pressure in untrained pensioners no worse than moderate exercise.

But a significant advantage is that they last half as long.

An experiment was conducted.

It involved 68 people who had never previously exercised on a regular basis.

Half of the participants in the study did regular 40-minute moderate-intensity exercise, while the others did only 20 minutes of exercise but did high-intensity interval training.

It turned out that the pressure decreased in both groups, but the second group improved their memory, and their muscles also became stronger.

The scientists' results were published in The Journals of Gerontology: Series A.
