Specialists from the United States conducted scientific work with volunteers for several years. About 1.4 thousand people volunteered to take part.

As a result, scientists from the University of California stated that the frequency and duration of daytime sleep is closely related to a person’s age.

The corresponding publication appeared on the portal " Gazeta.Ru ".

Experts also noted that problems began just six years after the start of the experiment.

According to doctors, 24 percent of women and men were at risk of developing dementia.

The main factor of the disease is daytime sleep that lasts more than an hour.

People who allow themselves to sleep for more than an hour during the day, as it turns out, are 40% more likely to develop Alzheimer's disease than those who sleep for less than an hour during the day.

The researchers noted that it is safe to sleep during the day, but it is important to control the duration and frequency of naps.
