Australian scientists have reported that eating minimal portions of boiled peanuts can help combat allergies to this product.

Experts have stated that heating to high temperatures can change the structure and immunoreactivity of allergens from this nut.

The corresponding publication appeared in the journal Clinical & Experimental Allergy.

Doctors believe that if you give children small portions of the cooked product, you can overcome the allergy. The procedure can only be carried out under the supervision of doctors and with a preliminary consultation.

As noted by the scientists, an experiment was conducted involving 70 children aged 6 to 18 years. They received about 12 weeks of peanuts that had been boiled for 12 hours. Then, for another 20 weeks, all patients received nuts that had undergone 2-hour heat treatment. Then, for another 20 weeks, they were offered peanuts that had been roasted.

As a result, 80 percent of the participants became desensitized to the product.

Adverse effects occurred in 61 percent of subjects, three of whom dropped out of the project.

The methodology still requires additional research and improvements.
