You're Washing Your Windows Wrong: 5 Secrets That the Professionals Don't Tell You

Have you ever noticed that after cleaning your windows, they still look dull and there are streaks on the glass, as if they were wiped with a dirty rag?

It turns out that most people make the same mistakes that turn even the most thorough cleaning into a waste of time.

For example, many people start washing windows on a sunny day, thinking that they will dry faster.

But in reality, the sun causes the product to evaporate instantly, leaving behind unpleasant stains.

Another mistake is using plain water without additives. Yes, water washes away dust, but it does not cope with greasy fingerprints or road grime.

Try adding a couple of drops of dishwashing liquid to the bucket: it will degrease the surface and make the glass shine.

Did you know that rags and sponges are the main enemies of perfectly clean windows? Lint from towels, micro-scratches from hard sponges, stains from improperly wrung out fabric. All this spoils the result.

The secret is to use a rubber scraper - the same kind you use to clean car windows.

It removes water without leaving streaks, and if you wipe the surface with microfiber after it, the windows will look like new.

And don't forget about the frames! They are often washed last, but in vain: dirt from plastic or wood can drip onto the already washed glass.

Start with the frames, using an old toothbrush for hard to reach corners, and then move on to the glass.

And finally: never ignore the weather outside. Even if you planned to clean on the weekend, rain or strong wind will reduce all efforts to zero.

Raindrops will leave traces, and dust from the street will instantly settle on wet glass. Wait for a dry, windless day - and then your house will sparkle so much that your neighbors will envy!
