Do you need to wash champignons?

You don't even have to think about it, you can just do it right away.

Mushrooms must be washed, but this must be done correctly, otherwise the champignons may become saturated with water, which will affect the taste of the dish.

Therefore, they are simply washed in running water, rather than poured into a bowl.

Afterwards, you need to let the mushrooms dry a little and you can start cooking.

How to clean champignons

Most people think that cleaning is a waste of time, especially if you just washed the mushrooms.

You should definitely not clean out the brown plates under the mushroom cap.

But at the same time, it is necessary to cut off all stains and damage.

As for cleaning the cap itself, the thin skin is removed only if these are large specimens, i.e. more than 5 cm in height.

The larger the mushroom, the thicker the skin on its cap, which affects its taste.

Also, unpeeled large mushrooms may turn out tough after cooking.
