Imagine opening the refrigerator and instead of freshness, you are greeted by the smell of sour soup, fish, and forgotten cheese.
This nightmare is familiar to more than one housewife, no matter how clean she is.
Before you throw everything in your fridge in the trash, check out a coffee shop.

There you will need the most common ground coffee. It is now your new ally in the fight against unpleasant odors.
Pour coffee into an open jar (3-4 tablespoons is enough) and place on the middle shelf.
After just 12 hours, the aroma of coffee will absorb even the most persistent odors, and in their place will remain a barely perceptible trail, which can be compared to the aroma of freshly brewed espresso.
You ask why this works?
It's simple: coffee beans contain absorbent oils that "attract" molecules of unpleasant odors.
But what if the situation is critical? In this case, supplement the coffee strategy with a couple of drops of lemon or mint essential oil.
Apply them to a cotton pad and place it next to the jar - this will enhance the effect.
And for prevention, wipe the shelves once a month with a solution of water and hydrogen peroxide (1:1). It will kill the bacteria that are the source of the stench.
And yes, never store opened canned goods in the refrigerator! Transfer them to glass containers with tight lids - tin oxidizes and adds a metallic taste.
