How to clean a freezer so that food doesn't spoil and the appliance doesn't break: step-by-step instructions

Cleaning the freezer is such a troublesome task that many housewives reluctantly put it off indefinitely.

They can be understood: to restore order here, a lot of manipulations need to be carried out.

To begin with, you need to sort out the food stored here, defrost the refrigerator, wash the shelves, check the supplies... Sometimes you don't even have the strength to put everything back in its place, which is why the cleaning drags on for several days.

However, you won’t be able to ignore this procedure for too long – sooner or later you’ll have to start cleaning things up.

This is the only way your products will stay fresh and your equipment will not break down prematurely.

But there is good news: if you have detailed instructions in front of you, the process will go much faster.

So, first of all, unplug the refrigerator from the socket.

Then immediately start sorting out the food. Take the perishables to the balcony if it's winter outside, and if it's summer outside, you can move them to a cooler bag.

To melt the ice on the doors and walls, you need to open the freezer and wait for a while.

After this, housewives usually dry the freezer with a dry towel and prepare a cleaning solution of warm water and dishwashing liquid.

You need to wipe all surfaces with this solution and a sponge, then rinse off the cleaning agent with clean water and you can connect the refrigerator to the network, after making sure that all its surfaces are dry.

Finally, you should sort out all the food. Place good quality food in the freezer. Throw away any that have expired. Throw away any meat, vegetables, or fruit that have lost their color, as well as anything that has become sticky or leaked.

It is important to ensure that all products are packaged in airtight containers with an expiration date – this should be done at the procurement stage to avoid confusion.
