We often choose tomatoes in stores based solely on their attractive appearance.
And at home, having tried the vegetable, we discover that it is tasteless. But don’t be upset – such tomatoes can be “fixed” on your own.
First of all, you should not store them in the refrigerator, since low temperatures deprive tomatoes of their aroma and taste.
The most suitable place for storing them is a dry, dark place at room temperature, which will allow them to ripen without losing their beneficial properties.
As for color, it is recommended to choose tomatoes with a brighter, more saturated color - these are sweeter and more aromatic.
The same applies to the smell: the stronger and more pleasant it is, the tastier and healthier the vegetable.
To improve the taste of store-bought tomatoes, treat them with hot water - hold them under the water for a few seconds, and then cool them under water.
If you sprinkle tomatoes with sugar, salt and spices, you will give them sweetness, saltiness and piquancy.
To do this, cut the tomatoes into slices, place them in a container and sprinkle with sugar, salt and spices to taste, for example, garlic, pepper, basil.
Close the container with a lid, shake it, mixing everything in it, put it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours (or overnight).
During this time, the tomatoes will be soaked in the juice that forms from the sugar and salt, and, as a result, will delight you with a new taste and aroma.
