The main enemy of the washing machine is scale. It appears even when perfectly clean water flows from the tap.
The high temperatures at which laundry is usually washed also contribute to the deposition of powder particles on the heating element and the formation of scale.
You can remove scale from your appliance not only with the help of professional and widely advertised products.
The folk method of cleaning a washing machine with citric acid is much less expensive and at the same time very effective.
Cleaning a washing machine with citric acid
Before cleaning your washing machine from scale with citric acid, empty the drum of laundry.
Pour up to two hundred grams of citric acid into the powder compartment (you can also pour the acid directly into the drum).
Do not use lemon juice instead of cleaning the washing machine with citric acid, as its concentration is much lower than that of acid. Set the maximum washing mode for the duration, and the temperature at 90-95 degrees and start the machine.
It is necessary to monitor the working device, because during cleaning a piece of scale may fall off the heating element and get into the drain hole. If a characteristic humming sound is heard, you will have to turn off the machine, remove the piece of scale and then turn the device back on so that it completes the selected program.
When the machine has finished the program, open the opening for loading the laundry and carefully inspect the rubber elements of the drum - have small pieces of scale accumulated under them? Remove them if you find any and wipe the rubber with a cloth.
Having cleaned the machine in this way, you can safely proceed to the next wash cycle.
