A greasy stain on the upholstery of a sofa can bring any housewife to tears, who automatically starts to mentally calculate how much it will cost to reupholster the upholstered furniture.
In fact, there is no reason to be upset: a method has long been known that effectively removes grease stains from a sofa.
First of all, the contaminated area should be sprinkled with fine salt, soda or starch - these products will absorb the fat particles, literally pulling them out of the upholstery threads.
Leave the furniture like this for a couple of minutes – this should be just enough time to prepare the cleaning solution.
It consists of hot water, dishwashing liquid, washing powder, etc. They should be combined and whipped until foam forms.
Brush the powder off the dirty area and then wipe off any remaining grease with a sponge soaked in foam.
By the way, this same method is suitable for dealing with greasy sofas, because in essence these are nothing more than the same greasy stains, only old and with dirt stuck to them.
To dissolve the greasiness, you can also use other means such as glycerin, soda paste, diluted ammonia, etc., which need to be rubbed into the greasy area and left for some time.
When the substance softens, it should be removed with a sponge, which must first be dipped in a soap solution prepared from water with dishwashing gel or laundry soap.
If necessary, repeat all manipulations again and finally rinse off the cleaning composition.
To avoid streaks on the upholstery after cleaning, expose the furniture to minimal liquids and dry it quickly and naturally.
