Perhaps the most popular fabric used for sewing bed linen is cotton.
For this reason, we decided to share tips on washing cotton duvet covers and sheets, because every housewife would like to know how to tidy up the set without ruining it or shortening its service life.
Fortunately, there is no secret to this – to wash cotton bed linen, you should select the “Cotton” mode (in some machines it may be called “Cotton Eco”, etc.).
The duration of the mode is on average 2 hours, and the intensity is ideal for calico, poplin, percale and other cotton fabrics.
If you are washing white or light-colored laundry, you can safely set the temperature to 60 degrees.
If the bedding is colored or dark in color, reduce the temperature - 40 will be quite sufficient.
Temperatures above the recommended values will cause the design to fade quickly and the fabric to wear out.
There are two exceptions when it is possible to wash clothes at a temperature of 60-90 degrees - if they are for children or if they are used by a person with allergies.
But even in this case, it is recommended to alternate washes – maximum and gentle cleaning.
