How to Extend the Shelf Life of Food with a Regular Toothpick: A Note for Housewives

Probably every person knows about the existence of such a device as a toothpick.

This stick can be used to remove food particles stuck between teeth.

However, this is far from the only purpose of a toothpick.

A stick with pointed ends can help extend the shelf life of some foods.

There is one very simple trick. If you haven't learned it yet, fix it immediately!

Toothpick Trick

A common reason for the rapid decline in quality of certain products is that they have an open part.

A simple example: you only needed half of a long cucumber for a salad. You returned the other half of the vegetable to the refrigerator.

In such a situation, the cut will quickly become weathered. The result may be a sharp deterioration in the taste of the product or even its spoilage.

The problem is solved very simply: do not rush to throw away the cut off end of the fruit. Secure this "lid" to the cut cucumber with a toothpick and return the vegetable to the shelf of the refrigeration device.

You can do the same with sausage and lemon.

The cut will be closed. Therefore, the product will be stored for quite a long time.
