Do you spend hours cleaning your apartment, but after a day the dust is back on the shelves and the stains on the floor seem to have a life of their own?
The reason is not laziness, but mistakes that reduce all efforts to zero.
For example, you wash windows on a sunny day. Drops of water dry instantly, leaving streaks. The right thing to do is to clean in cloudy weather or in the morning.
Another fail: using the same cloth for all surfaces. When you wipe the counter, the sink, and then the floor, you spread bacteria all over your house.
The solution is color coding: blue for plumbing, green for the kitchen, red for the floor.
The most dangerous thing is to ignore the ventilation grilles. Do you vacuum them? In vain.
Grease, dust and fungus settle on them and spread throughout the rooms. Remove the grates, soak them in hot water with soda for an hour, then scrub with an old toothbrush.
The fourth mistake is to wash the floors without cleaning them first. A damp cloth will only spread the dirt if you don't vacuum the floor first.
Do not pour glass cleaner directly onto the surface. This will risk damaging the frames or seals. Apply it only to a cloth.
The sixth "sin" is forgetting about switches and door handles. They are touched with dirty hands dozens of times a day, turning them into a breeding ground for germs. Wipe them with an antiseptic wipe once every two days.
The seventh mistake is to store the broom in a corner. Dust mites accumulate on its bristles. After cleaning, rinse it under hot water and dry it with the bristles down.
Try not to use too much water when washing wooden furniture. Moisture causes it to swell and crack.
Finally, break the habit of cleaning in a random order. Start with the back rooms, moving towards the exit, so as not to trample the floor you just cleaned.
