Many people are used to immediately unloading their purchases into the refrigerator.
But not all products can be stored on the shelves of this household appliance, otherwise their taste and quality can be worsened.
For example, you can't put tomatoes in the refrigerator.
In this case, they lose their important nutritional elements, their taste suffers, and their shelf life is reduced, reports the publication " Lenta.ru " with reference to agronomist Alexei Kurenin.
The specialist added that tomatoes should be stored under certain conditions.
A dry place with good ventilation is best for this, and the temperature should not be below 10-12 degrees Celsius.
Kurenin also talked about how to choose the right tomatoes in the store.
As the agronomist noted, quality fruits should not be too hard or soft. In the first case, they will be unripe, and in the second - overripe.
The aroma of vegetables should be pleasant, but if it is sour, this indicates that the rotting process has begun.
Earlier we talked about when to plant tomato seedlings.
